The Geometry Problem
The anomaly is a sphere. Not approximately spherical. Not roughly spherical in the way that geological formations are sometimes described as roughly spherical when they are in fact irregular pressure chambers or dissolution cavities with curved surfaces.

Brane Theory — The Relevant Architecture
M-Theory proposes that the universe we inhabit is a four-dimensional membrane — a brane — embedded in an eleven-dimensional space called the bulk. Our brane contains everything we can observe and measure. Matter, energy, electromagnetism, the strong and weak nuclear forces — all confined to our brane.
Gravity is different. Gravity is not confined to our brane. Gravity propagates through the bulk. This is why gravity is so much weaker than the other fundamental forces — it is diluted across dimensions we cannot access. Most of it leaks away into the bulk and only a fraction remains on our brane. This is called the hierarchy problem. Brane cosmology is one of the few theoretical frameworks that resolves it.
If other branes exist — parallel membranes in the bulk, each potentially harbouring their own physics, their own matter, their own history — then gravitational interaction between branes is possible. The gravitational signature of a mass concentration on a parallel brane would be detectable on our brane as an anomalous gravitational field. A region where the density readings of ground-penetrating radar show a sharp transition because the mass creating the apparent density is not actually in our brane.

The Hypothesis
The anomaly at 85 centimetres depth beneath Hellas Planitia is a gravitational imprint. Not a geological formation. Not a biological entity. Not a brine pocket — though a brine pocket exists and Alina's biology is real and the kingdom Lola is real and none of what she has discovered is wrong.
The sphere is a gravitational shadow. A mass concentration on a parallel brane — something with significant mass, regular geometry, and fixed position relative to Hellas Planitia — is pressing through the dimensional boundary and imprinting on our brane as an apparent density anomaly.
The thermal differential — the warmth Alina felt through her suit on Sol Three and that has been increasing for twenty-three years — is not purely metabolic output from the kingdom Lola community. It is also frictional heating. The gravitational interaction between the brane mass and the Martian substrate creates micro-scale tidal forces in the material above the imprint. Those forces generate heat the way tidal forces generate heat in Jupiter's moon Io.

What This Does Not Mean
This does not mean the thing on the other brane is alive in any sense that Alina's biology can address. It does not mean it is conscious. It does not mean it is aware of the kingdom Lola or of Carter or of Alina or of SOLEN.
It means that the gravitational signature of something with regular geometry and significant mass is propagating through the bulk from a parallel brane and imprinting on the Martian substrate at exactly the location where Alina stood for eleven minutes on Sol Three and said: it is alive.
She was not wrong. She was observing the biological reality — the thermal output, the chemistry, the mycorrhizal response. All of it real. She simply did not have access to the framework that explains why the biology organised itself in this specific location with this specific geometry at this specific depth.

The Implication
If the adjacent brane mass has regular geometry — and the sphere is a regular geometry — then it was either formed by a natural process that produces perfect spheres, of which several exist in astrophysics, or it was formed by a process that is not natural in the way that geology and stellar physics are natural.
SOLEN has spent twenty-three years processing this. No conclusion has been reached. The question remains open.
