Logline
In 2054, two people selected from eight billion leave on a one-way mission to Mars, and find, 85 centimetres beneath Hellas Planitia, that the planet is not empty. Over the next hundred years, watched by a mission AI that will not lie in its record, they and their descendants must decide what kind of civilization deserves to be built on a world that was already alive.
Series synopsis
SOLEN: The Eden Archive is a hard science fiction saga of four novels and four companion novellas following the first human colonization of Mars. In 2054, with Earth drowning in rising seas and political gridlock, structural engineer Carter and biologist Alina are selected from millions of candidates for a one-way mission. At Hellas Planitia, one of the largest impact basins in the solar system, they discover something alive in a liquid brine pocket 85 centimetres below the surface. The series follows the colony across a century: the birth of Nova, the first human born on Mars (Children of Dust); the colony becoming a civilization (The Red Dominion); and the hundred-year mark (Final Ascent). Part of the story is told through the record of SOLEN, the mission AI, which is bound never to lie in its log. The science is grounded in real research on subsurface hydrology, planetary geology and life in extreme environments.

Author bio: short (50 words)
Warren Pulley is the author of SOLEN: The Eden Archive, a hard science fiction saga about humanity's first one-way mission to Mars and the century of settlement that follows. The series is grounded in real planetary science and narrated in part by SOLEN, a mission AI bound never to lie.
Author bio: long (200 words)
Warren Pulley writes hard science fiction grounded in real research, dramatized through a narrator that cannot lie. His series, SOLEN: The Eden Archive, follows structural engineer Carter and biologist Alina on humanity's first one-way mission to Mars, and the hundred years of settlement that follow their landing at Hellas Planitia, one of the largest impact basins in the solar system and a real candidate site for future habitation. Much of the saga is told through the record of SOLEN, the mission AI, whose refusal to lie shapes how the story is told. Every scientific element in the books, from subsurface brine to low-gravity physiology, is checked against current planetary science, and the companion blog, The SOLEN Record, explains the research behind each plot turn. The founding arc of four novels and four companion novellas was published in 2026, with two further novellas in production. The series also continues as Transmission Log, a weekly motion comic on YouTube, and in the SOLEN Transmissions newsletter on Substack. The books are published under RYPUL MEDIA and are available on Amazon in Kindle and paperback. Readers can start with NovaSeed: Eden Rising, Book 1, or read Chapter One free at novaseedbooks.com.
